Beer Permit Board
This board approves issuance of permits to sell beer in Berry Hill and conducts hearings on violations by permittees with authority to suspend or revoke permits for violations. The Board meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm.
Building Code Appeals Board
The Board of Commissioners also sits as the Board of Building Code Appeals hearing requests for variances from the requirements of the city’s building code. The Board meets as needed.
Civil Service and Pensions Board
This board adopts civil service rules and regulations and conducts civil service trials and hearings. The Board meets the first Monday of each month at 4:00 pm.
Industrial Development Board
This Board may finance, purchase, construct, lease or dispose of properties for the purpose of maintaining and increasing employment opportunities by inducing businesses or other enterprises to locate or remain in the city. The Board meets as needed.
Traffic Commission
This commission makes recommendations to the Board of Commissioners to address traffic issues in the city. The Commission meets the first Monday of each month at 6:30 pm.
Zoning and Planning Commission
This commission adopts general plans for the development of property within the city and subdivision regulations; recommends adoption of zoning ordinances and maps to the Board of Commissioners; and approves applications for subdivisions and planned unit developments. The Commission meets the first Monday of each month at 6:15 pm.
Zoning Appeals Board
The Municipal Zoning and Planning Commission also sits as the Board of Zoning Appeals, which hears requests for exceptions from the city’s zoning regulations and appeals of decisions of administrative officials interpreting the zoning ordinance. The Board meets the first Monday of each month at 6:00 pm.
